On Saturday 17th March I travelled down to the NEC to visit The Photography Show.
This is a show I’d not been to before but I’d heard it was a great place to go to network with other professional photographers, pick up lots of tips and also rummage through for new equipment.
The first thing I saw that might come in handy was a composite pole that would replace my aging monopod that I have been using for aerial looking shots. Here is a pic of one being demoed at the show.
Some of these extend to 6m in length!
I was also impressed by the various lab quality printers on display. Here is an Epson one that was just huge.
For those photographers interested in lighting techniques there was a vast array of products and modifiers on offer which were being demoed by a number of different product ambassadors.
It was also the same day as a ComiCon and there was a 5min parade of Star Wars enthusiasts which came as a complete surprise.
My personal highlight was meeting Art Wolfe who was doing book signings for his new publication called ‘Earth is My Witness’. It’s a great book and would grace any coffee table.
Finally it was time for me to head back before the snow arrived and it looks like I left just at the right moment. The snow started to fall just as I walked back to the car.
