Legend has it that the Devil once released his young demons to make mischief one day and a two ended up in Lincoln at the Cathedral.

They upset proceedings, knocked over the Dean and broke stained glass windows.

An Angel was despatched and appeared in the Cathedral. The Angel then caught one of the demons and “turned the Wicked Imp to stone”.  The stone grotesque of the Lincoln Imp can be found on one of the walls of the Cathedral to this day.

The Lincoln Imp has since been adopted as a symbol for the City of Lincoln. I found this beautiful example of the grotesque in the form of a brass door knocker on a house in the town.

I’m privileged to live in a county so full of history and folklore. It makes me so proud to be from this area.

Did you know – I use vintage lenses from the film era to make some of my images because I like the distinctive look they give. These are mounted on a modern camera using adapters. If you would like to know more about how I do this, please check out my blog post on the subject (Using Manual Focus Lenses on a Sony A7).

Each print is printed on high quality fine art paper guaranteed to keep your print looking sharp and vibrant for years to come.  I only work with one print lab who I have used for many years and can rely on the quality of their work.

Canvas prints are hand made by the same lab as my prints using quality materials such as oak stretchers and 100% natural art canvas. They are also coated to provide UV protection, ensuring longevity of your fine art purchase.  Also printed industry leading inks to really make your photograph a focal point in any room.

All frames are bespoke made to order and come with a single mount and plexiglass gallery standard anti-reflective glass. The sizes of the framed prints are noted below.
